The next mini project I did was a seven day character prompt challenge, this gave me a week to illustrate and research the aesthetic design choices of seven new characters.
Day 01: Solid Colour

For the solid colour prompt I wanted to use my least favourite colour, Yellow. I tend to not use it because it personally looks quite revolting to me. However it made me think of the 1970s, I wanted to reference the flip hair, bigger glasses and the colourful suits.

Day 02: Decades

Text here For the decades character I was feeling the 1970s vibe still. Going with the more American aesthetic, leather jacket, collared shirt and flare jeans. I also illustrated one of the rare male characters.

Day 03: Emotions
|
For the third prompt, I illustrated the emotion of feeling depressed. An emotion I feel quite regularly. I used darker colours to represent the darkness that surrounds depressive low days. I kept the character more put together to show that people you wouldn't expect to be depressed can be.

Day 04 Barbie
|
For the fourth day's prompt Barbie, I wanted to illustrate a business Barbie. Imagining the doll being sold on the shelf, in the classic Barbie box. I also illustrated her with some accessories, handbags, a phone and some sunglasses.

Day 05: Demon
|
Day five's prompt was "demon", I wanted to go more modern with this design. Playing off of the red devil visual language I wanted to illustrate mine to have a more gender fluid appearance. On the bottom half their legs are influenced by goats hind legs. They are also covered in tattoos and some jewelry.

Day 06: IT GIRL
|
Text here For day six the prompt was "IT GIRL". This prompt was inspired by singer AliyahsInterlude, and her song IT-Girl. I took inspiration from Aliyah and her dress sense witch has been called AliyahCore. It mixes influence from Y2K, Harajuku fashion, Bimbo culture and a reference to 90s city black fashion culture.
